Tropics Heating Up

Three Storms In Atlantic

Hurricane Earl is now a category four storm with winds reaching 145 mph.

It will make a brush with the East Coast this weekend, but thanks to a cold front moving across the country, it will keep the storm from making a powerful blow and direct hit.

The storm will cause devastating winds, rough surf, rip currents and flooding rains to the east coast.

Following Earl, we have Tropical Storm Fiona. She will stay out to sea and not threaten land. She will stay a couple hundred miles to the east of the east coast.

Tropical Storm Gaston has now formed well out in the Atlantic, and will be the storm to watch. We will have to wait until next week before we know whether it will take a turn to the north, or threaten the Gulf of Mexico.
