Program Helps Shoppers Live Nutritious Lifestyles

A nutritional scoring system will soon be available at several Arklatex grocery stores.

NuVal’s Nutritional Scoring System will soon be available at Brookshire Grocery Co. stores, in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

NuVal’s Nutritional Scoring System is a guide designed to enhance the shopping experience. All store items receive a NuVal score from 1 to 100; the higher the score, the higher the nutritional value. Scores are posted on shelf tags, making it easy for consumers to compare the overall nutritional value of the foods they buy.

NuVal will be launched in Brookshire’s stores on Wednesday, June 16, with Super 1 Foods stores expected to be added in the next few weeks.

Through this partnership, NuVal and Brookshire’s will help communities learn how to live more nutritious lifestyles.
