Idabel,OK - Is this a great place, or what?

You're invited to have lunch with KTBS this Thursday in Idabel, Oklahoma!

Our news, weather and other personnel will be at AJ's Steak & Pasta Steakhouse at noon on October 8th. Come enjoy a free bread pudding dessert with the purchase of your meal, and feel free to tell us about Idabel and the surrounding area. We want to learn more about the community, so we can pass along what we learn to the rest of the ArkLaTex.

That morning, the KTBS 3 Storm Team will teach students at Idabel Middle School about the dangers of severe weather. Also, look for Rick Rowe's 50 Cities story on KTBS First News.

If you can't make it to lunch with us, be sure to watch KTBS 3 News Midday, 5, 6 & 10, and check back here on ktbs.com that day to learn more about this corner treasure of our region that houses Idabel, Beaver's Bend Resort Park and so much more.

Hope to see you this Thursday!

It's time for the KTBS 3 Minute Smile.

Eleven year old Ashton Arnold is the first winner in this year's contest.

The Caddo Middle Magnet student stopped by the station with his family today and told us it's a little like being Santa Claus.

Ashton's not the only winner. The same toys he picks will be given to Toys for Tots, so other children can have a happy holiday.

This week's run is Thursday. It's sponsored by Kilpatrick Life Insurance.

We'll pick two more winners in the coming weeks to check out the rules and to register, go to ktbs-dot-com, keyword: Smile.

25th Mudbug Madness Festial underway

Posted 1 year 5 months 2 weeks ago
Posted In: Community

The weather isn't the only thing that's hot around here. So are the crawfish.

The annual Mudbug Madness Festival is underway.

The fun kicked off earlier today with a media crawfish eating contest and KTBS 3's Sonja Bailes was there to give it her best shot.

When it was all over, KRMD Radio's Derek James won, but Sonja is proud she won the women's division.

The only thing is, she was the only woman in the contest.

This is the 25th anniversary for Mudbug Madness.

The festival is open each day from 11am to 11pm.

Admission is free before 6 pm. Then, it's three-dollars.

Children under 12 are free at all times.

There's also a shuttle running from the Louisiana Boardwalk, Pierre Bossier Mall and Mall Saint Vincent.
