Crime-prevention Initiative To Be In Highland Neighborhood This Week

The Shreveport Police Department’s door-to-door crime fighting initiative will be in the Highland neighborhood this week.

Community liaison officers, patrol officers, community response unit officers and neighborhood assistance team officers will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army parking lot in the 100 block of East Stoner Avenue for a brief roll call.

From there they will visit houses throughout the neighborhood to ask residents about crime they see taking place in the community.

Crime prevention material and police contact numbers will be left with residents so that they can call whenever they need to anonymously report crime problems.

Police plan to visit approximately 250 homes.
