"Olympus Has Fallen" now shooting

First major film shot in Shreveport in a year

Shreveport, La. -

Filming began on Monday on Texas Street in Shreveport.

The area is doubling for Washington, D.C.  Teague Parkway will be used for Pennsylvania Avenue.  A model of the White House is being built next to the Centurylink Center.

This project is also breathing new life into Shreveport's film industry.  Since 2005 - 2006, the number of films shot in Shreveport - Bossier have dropped.

This film has hired 300 crew members.
