Putting health care on the down low

Remember how the Dems' health care reform was sold to the people? That it would lower costs and reduce the deficit? Democrats are now being told to back off those claims, and wisely so.

As polls show that most Americans are against Obamacare, the centerpiece of the Dems' agenda that they crammed through Congress will be downplayed in the upcoming midterms.

People seem to have figured out that costs are going up for employers. And that means higher costs for its employees. And fewer jobs -- the main issue of this election.

Meantime, Republicans are having trouble getting on the same page on repealing Obamacare. "Repeal" may still be a big rallying cry by GOP candidates. But the Republican leadership knows they're likely to fall short of the two-thirds majorities they would need to override a certain Obama veto. So they have another plan to defeat reforms with simple majorities -- if they can achieve that.
