About Dr. Goodman

"Blending the latest scientific information with personalized patient care is the way I approach the treatment of patients who have arthritic disease."

Board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Dr. Goodman has been in private practice since the founding of The Arthritis and Rheumatology Clinic in December 1987. He was in private practice at Highland Clinic for two years before coming to the Arthritis & Rheumatology Clinic.

A Louisiana native, he is a graduate of Jesuit High School in Shreveport, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport.

Dr. Goodman's post graduate training includes an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina and a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Tennessee Center for Health sciences in Memphis, Tennessee.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Rheumatology. In his leisure time, Dr. Goodman is an avid fly and bass fisherman, and enjoys horseback riding. He resides in Shreveport with his wife and has two sons.

Your doctor may recommend no eating the following foods:

 

             Liver          Gravies

             Sweetbreads    Broths

             Brins          Mussels

             Fish roe/eggs  Wine

             Beer           Anchovies

             Kidney         Heart

             Sardines       Herring

 

Your doctor may recommend tha you not eat more than one serving of the any of these foods each day:

 

             Meats          Spinach

             Peas           Whole grain cereals

             Cauliflower    Fowl (for example: chicken or duck)

             Lentils        Yeast

             Beans          Fish  (except for those listed above)

             Asparagus      Mushrooms

 

You do not need to limit these foods:

 

             Vegetables (except for those listed above)

             Fruits

             Milk           Refined cereals and ceral products

             Eggs           Butter and fats (in moderation)

             Sweets and Sugars

             Vegetable soups ( clear broth )

             Spices and condiments, including salt and vinegar
