"A Prairie Home Companion" Comes To Shreveport
A popular public radio show made it's first ever appearance in Shreveport.
"A Prairie Home Companion" broacast its show on Red River Radio from the Municipal Auditorium stage this evening.
More than three thousand people turned out for the event.
Lafayette-based Cajun band BeauSoleil and grammy award winning Shreveport guitarist James Burton performed for the sellout crowd. Humorist Garrison Keillor and his ensemble cast took to the stage to perform skits, including Keillor's signature Lake Wobegon monologue.
The performance marked the first time in the shows 38 year history that it had performed in Shreveport.
Six million listeners from around the world were expected to tune in to tonight's show.
