Big honors for local Crime Stoppers branch

SHREVEPORT -

The Shreveport Police Department has something to celebrate.
Sgt. Jim Taliaferro has earned the title of "Crime Stoppers Coordinator of the Year."
The honor was bestowed to Sgt. Taliaferro during the annual Crime Stoppers International Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event was held October 1st- 5th, 2012.
A joint effort by Shreveport's branch and local businessman, Marion Marks of MMCC Inc., earned a "Best Video" accolade for a crime prevention PSA produced by Marks.
The award was for cities with a population of 0 to 300,000.
