The LSU-S gymnasium is accepting evacuees as Tropical Storm Isaac pushes toward the Gulf Coast.

Monday night, several people were taking advantage of the facility, including a family of more than 20 who drove up from New Orleans. They told KTBS 3 News that when looking for information about shelters, the Shreveport area had the only information they could find.

The shelter at LSU-S is staffed 24/7 and will remain open as long as needed.
