"FAiTH Day"
Loyola College Prep Students Feed 600 Families
Once again, Loyola College Prep students are feeding 600 families a Christmas meal and providing toys to needy children. Since 1990, the name of the group that spearheads the undertaking is called FAiTH - Flyers Aiding the Hungry.
Canned food collection has been ongoing throughout the school year as well as various fund-raisers to have enough to supply each family with a complete meal.
Monday, the FAiTH officers converted the Loyola gym into Santa's Food Giveaway. The baskets were given out to the needy (the list is supplied by the St. Vincent DePaul Society). Also, Snoopy's Toy Shack was constructed for the children to receive gifts to have for Christmas.
Since the days of the Jesuit order running the school, the students on Jordan Street have fed the hungry at Christmas. Once again, the Flyers live the school motto of "Becoming Men and Women for Others."
