Two people accused of being involved in a massive drug ring in eastern Arkansas have pleaded guilty to drug-related charges in federal court.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas announced Wednesday that Curtis Sharkey pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine, and Davis pleaded guilty to a charge of using a telephone in the furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
Davis and Sharkey were charged as part of the government's "Operation Delta Blues" investigation. Federal authorities launched the probe to combat drug trafficking in Helena-West Helena and the surrounding region. Dozens of people were arrested, including five law enforcement officers.
Attorneys for Sharkey and Davis were out of the office Wednesday and didn't immediately return messages seeking comment.
