Secretary of State Jay Dardenne hosted a retirement party for Forrest Dunn at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum.

Dunn co-founded the "Friends of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum" in 1982 and has served as director for the last ten years.

His work is responsible for the museum's affiliation with the Smithsonian Instition, making it the only public museum in Louisiana to hold the distinction.

Dunn was also a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for 12 years, and served on the Caddo Parish School Board and the Shreveport Housing Authority.
