Senior Citizen Food Giveaway

Food for Families

POSTED: 5:33 am CDT July 13, 2010

There's a huge food giveaway for senior citizens today at Shreveport's Independence Stadium.  "Food for Families" is a coalition of food pantries that collects and gives away non-perishable food.  Seniors must be at least 60 years old and make no more than $1,170 a month.  They must be able to show proof of income and residency in the state.  The food giveaway is from 7:00 10:00 this morning.
Another food giveaway will be held tomorrow in Bossier City at the same time at the Century Tel Center.  Once seniors are registered, they'll be eligible to get various food items each month.
