Coroner: Worker Died of Heart Attack

A man found dead Wednesday afternoon on a piece of property in rural south Bossier Parish appears to have died of a heart attack, the coroner said today.
The man suffered from coronary artery disease and his condition likely was aggravated by the high temperatures and manual labor he was doing. Dr. John Chandler said..
Peri Joe Curro, 51, of Haughton was found dead late Wednesday on a piece of rural property off Caplis-Sligo Road in south Bossier Parish.
Curro had been working outside much of the day doing odd jobs for a landowner, including clearing scrap metal. The landowner found him dead about 5 p.m., sheriff's deputies said.
The high temperature on Wednesday was 94 degrees. The heat index, which takes humidity into account, was in the upper 90s to low 100s.
