12-year-old Amber White was last seen around 3:00 p.m. on July 18, 2010 near her home in the 6900 block of Buncombe Road. Her parents notified police after she had not returned home from a trip to the neighborhood pool.

Amber is a white female, five feet nine inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and reddish-blonde hair and was last seen wearing a green “Soulja Boy” t-shirt, cut off blue jean shorts, and a navy blue, white and brown crop jacket.

Detectives got a tip through the Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers this morning that two witnesses observed a girl matching Amber’s description get into a dark blue 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass bearing Louisiana license plate “SZS307” yesterday afternoon there in the 6900 block of Buncombe Road. The witnesses advised a black male subject was driving the car. Detectives were able to track the car down and ultimately located it in a parking lot in the 400 block of Milam Street in downtown Shreveport. The vehicle was subsequently impounded by investigators.

The male teenager detectives believe was driving that car yesterday afternoon has been arrested and is being interviewed at this time as investigators work to determine exactly what happened and where Amber White is. Brandon Player, 19 years old, of the 6300 block of W. 70th Street in Shreveport, has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Detectives stress Player may face other charges depending on information gathered as a result of their ongoing investigation. Investigators are in contact with Amber’s parents and are following up on every possible lead as they move forward in their investigation to find Amber and bring her back home.
