A woman sitting outsider her apartment on David Raines told police she was stabbed three times by another woman. She received minor injuries.

The victim is the sixth person to be stabbed in the last few days.

One of the victims died from his injuries. Investigators say Greg Scott Bowers was stabbed more than two dozen times last week inside his apartment at the Plantation Inn.

DeMario Thomas was arrested over the weekend and charged with first degree murder.

So far this year, Shreveport Police detectives have worked four stabbing-related homicides. That's twice the number of stabbing deaths than all of last year.

Police say they're not sure why the sudden increase.
