A group in charge of looking at improving operations at Shreveport Regional Airport gets its first look Tuesday at a study that could help it land a low-cost carrier.

The Air Service Task Force meets Tuesday and is expected to review the first report by its consulting firm.

Seabury APG was hired to look at airport operations to help attract a low-cost carrier like Southwest, AirTran or Frontier.

The task force was appointed by Mayor Cedric Glover and has until the end of the year to submit its findings.

Boardings are down at Regional Airport, where air fares are often higher than at other airports in the area like Monroe, Alexandria and Longview.
