Hot Weekend, Isolated Storms Possible

Weather Update

POSTED: 5:59 am CDT August 21, 2010
Another hot weekend is in store for the ArkLaTex with highs in the upper 90s to near 100. The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Heat Advisory until 7 PM Sunday. This means that it will be dangerously hot through the weekend. Make sure to stay safe if you have to be outside this weekend.

A weak cold front will be moving into the northern ArkLaTex this afternoon through Sunday. This will cause a slight chance for showers and storms, only a 20% chance for rain. By Sunday afternoon, that front will wash out, and we will be left with dry and hot weather for the first part of the work week. Any storms that do develop will be capable of producing heavy rain and gusty winds.
