Charlie Melancon says David Vitter is ducking open, honest debate. Vitter's camp says Melancon is a hypocrite.
The democrat Melancon is challenging the incumbent republican to five televised debates around the state.
Both camps have agreed to a televised debate on WWL in New Orleans three nights before the November election.
