Remnants of Tropical Storm To Be Felt In ArkLaTex

Forecast Update

Tropical Storm Hermine began to lose its punch as it continued pushing north into Texas on Tuesday morning. There were no reports of serious injuries as the storm moved northward.

Remnants of the storm will be felt in the ArkLaTex, where rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cloudy skies are expected most of the week.

There is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and a 60 percent chance on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

Hermine, which las left the town Raymondville, Texas, almost entirely without power, caused landslides in northeast Mexico. Raymondville is located about 20 miles from the Gulf coast. About 30,000 homes in the Rio Grande Valley were without power Tuesday morning.

Hermine dumped between five inches to a foot of rain after crossing into Texas late Monday. The storm made landfall in northeastern Mexico with winds up to 65 mph.

The Weather Service said remnants of Hermine will be felt as far north as Oklahoma and Kansas in the coming days.
