Arrest Made In Drive-by Shooting
An arrest was made Tuesday in connection with an early morning drive-by shooting in which the victim was hit in the back after shots were fired at a house in north Shreveport.
The shooting of Willie Collins, 53, happened about 12:40 a.m. in the 2000 block of Addition Avenue off Martin Luther King Drive.
Arrested was Demarcus Burns, 30, of the 2900 block of Peace Street. He was booked on a charge of attempted murder.
Police Department spokesman Sgt. Bill Goodin said there was an ongoing dispute between a group of men and at least one person living in the house. One of the men involved in the dispute drove by in a car and fired several shots at the house. One bullet hit Collins.
Police did not disclose the nature of the ongoing dispute.
One more arrest is expected, Goodin said.
