Shreveport, La. -

The 7th Graders of Caddo Middle Magnet will soon be celebrating the historical Colonial Days of our nation. On Friday, November 2, 2012, from 12:45 pm until 2:15 pm, the English and American History classes will host their 24th annual Colonial Days Celebration. The afternoon of learning and fun is dedicated to tie with the curriculum being taught by these classes.

The students will be dressed in period costumes and will participate in a variety of activities from the 1700’s. The activities facilitated by various artisans and interpretative rangers from the area include demonstrations and exhibits in falconry, weaving, colonial music, blacksmithing, spinning, Indian tools, and fire making.

Students will also be able to enjoy a variety of food and participate in numerous crafts and games all with a Colonial flair. From turkey legs and baked potatoes, to horseshoes and hay bale tossing, it promises to be a wonderful enrichment opportunity for all involved!
