A 3-year old New Boston boy is killed in a vehicle accident on Interstate 30 in Bowie County.

It happened around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon at the 206 mile marker.

DPS officials say Amiee Strack, 37, and her son Chancellor, 3, of New Boston were travelling eastbound on I-30 when traffic slowed down due to construction.

Troopers say Strack hit the back of an 18-wheeler.

The mother and child were transported to a local hospital, where the child later died.

Amiee Strack is in stable condition at Christus St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana.
