SHREVEPORT, La. -

One Shreveport church took time this morning to remember 9-11. Galilee Baptist Church had Sunday service with prayers for 9-11 victims and their families.

They also thank first responders - the firemen, policemen and EMTs that are willing to risk their lives to save ours.

Church officials say the morning was to inspire others go out of their way and thank local heros.

"We would just like to ask everybody to give more appreciation to our policemen, firemen. we just need them and sometimes people aren't giving the appreciation they deserve," church member Vera Jones said.

Church members have been having the service for 10 years now.
