She knows very little about the game, except that he loves it.
“I watch his number, I may not know what’s going on, but I watch his number if he is involved, I’m for him.”
It’s been like that since he was 7 years old, when Judy went to the orphanage in Russia, she had gone there because a year earlier her sister Joy had a vision.
“I was praying for you-I saw an orphan”.
Joy describes the little boy in great detail, so when they get to the orphanages, Judy is hoping for a miracle.
“She pulls out of a stack of 1000 files, she prays, help me find this boy, she reaches in the middle of the pile, pulled out one file, everything matches”.
He was exactly what Joy had seen a year earlier more.
“Judy, I see him protecting a little child. In a picture there was this child, short blond hair, he said, “I protect Katia, kids mean to her..I not let them hurt her”.
The vision revealed even more.
“He held up a roll and they said that is his only snack for the day and he tried to give it to Jarred and the Lord said servant’s heart”.
What Judy did not know was the agony this little orphan boy had gone through, being left alone in a tiny apartment.
“they left him for 11 days, no food, just abandon him”.
“I had a lemon, I dipped it into some sugar and ate that, it was my meal”.
Finally someone took him to the orphanages where he meets his new mother and brother.
“I didn’t sleep after they left, I look at photo album, I was up all night”.
10 years later that skinny little orphan is a 260 offensive tackle for the North Webster Knights.
Playing football because he believes it’s his avenue to helping others, something he told his mother years ago.
“I want to go all over the world, tell people about Jesus, help old people, sick people, hungry people”.
“He just put it in my heart, the missionary, helping others that was my purpose in life. I know that’s what I’m here to do”.
For his mother, the miracle of Joshua just proves what she always knew.
“The concern, the compassion of God for every person on this planet, that little boy was begging God for a family. His grandparents were begging for someone who would raise him for God. God is faithful, we are not praying to nothing , he’s here and he answers and he cares”.
“Joshua’s football team lost on Friday night, but that is just a tiny speed bump on this young man’s purpose driven life”.
