TEXARKANA, Ark. -

Convicted evangelist Tony Alamo is appealing a $24 million judgment in a lawsuit that accused him of beating two boys.
Alamo on Thursday filed a notice of appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court.
In November, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued a one sentence order that denied Alamo's request that his appeal be reconsidered.
Alamo's attorneys argued that a three-judge panel of the court was wrong in October when it rejected Alamo's claim of faulty jury instructions.
Alamo was ordered to pay $30 million in damages to each of the two -- who are now adults. The appeals court reduced the award to $12 million each.
Alamo is serving a 175-year prison sentence for taking young girls across state lines for sex.
