A man with Alzheimer's who wandered away from a downtown Shreveport casino hotel this morning has been found safe.

Police said they found 72-year-old Sylvester Price sitting at a parking garage near the downtown Greyhound bus terminal on Fannin Street about 7:15 a.m.

Price walked away from El Dorado casino early today after his daughter helped him to the bathroom inside their hotel room, police said. She fell asleep and Price slipped out, police said.

Casino workers said the man asked to be taken to the bus station so he could go home, although bus station employees said they never saw him.

Other than being wet from the rain, Price appeared fine, family members said. Fire Department paramedics examined him and said he appeared uninjured.
