Amendment tightens up commissioners' travels

At Thursday's Caddo Commission meeting, after much debate, commissioners voted in favor of a resolution changing current bylaws concerning their travel expenses. The amendment requires commissioners to seek permission to use parish money for extra traveling. Commissioners automatically get one trip to Baton Rouge and two national trips, all business related. Commissioners also voted to put other amendments to the parish charter on a general election ballot in 2014. The public was to vote on those amendments in May.
