It's not as famous as the hot dog eating contest on Coney Island, but it's getting close.

An apple-eating contest was held at the Louisiana Boardwalk Friday afternoon.

KTBS 3's Julie Parr took part in the contest. She was able to nibble on one apple.

The winner was Miss Shreveport 2008 Hannah Moore. She gobbled down 2.68 pounds of apples.
