Ark. authorities to tackle school shooter training

Authorities in Arkansas plan to form a committee that will provide schools with a training plan for active-shooter situations.
Arkansas State Police said Friday that Ken Jones, director of the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training, will head up efforts to establish the committee.
State Police also say the training will only be offered at the request of local school district officials.
The news of the committee comes after a gunman killed 26 people, including 20 children, last month at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. The shooter also killed his mother and himself.
