Vickie Critcher, the wife of outgoing Senate President Jack Critcher of Batesville, is seeking a seat in the House. Linda Bisbee, the wife of Senator Dave Bisbee of Rogers, also is seeking a House seat. Both say they wouldn't be running if their husbands weren't term limited.

Former Republican Senator Bill Walters is running for the House seat now held by his wife, Representative Shirley Walters of Cedarville. But Walters is running as a Democrat. His wife is a Republican.

The chairman of the Democratic Party is trying to prevent one familiar name from returning to the ballot. Dwayne Dobbins, who left the House almost three years ago to settle a felony sexual assault charge, is running unopposed in the Democratic primary for his former House seat.

Dobbins' wife, Sharon, succeeded her husband in a special election after he stepped down because of the criminal case.

Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney has said he hopes to find someone to run as a write-in candidate against Dwayne Dobbins.
