Christopher is a typical 13-year-old boy who loves everything related to the great outdoors: adventures, fishing, and ATV rides. Chris says if he could do anything for the day or go anywhere, he would spend his time out of the house and in nature.
"I like to play basketball or go outside," Chris says. "I like to explore."
Chris says his favorite class is social studies because he loves history, war stories, and hearing about battles. Prospective parents will quickly realize, however, this soft-spoken, well-mannered teenager is naturally nurturing and protective. Chris says he wants to be in law enforcement when he grows up because he likes helping people.
When asked what he wants from an adoptive family, Chris says he is looking for someone who shares his interests.
"[I want] someone who likes sports and outdoors," Chris says.
Adoption case workers say older children are sometimes reluctant to be placed with families, especially if they have had their hopes dashed before. Chris, they say, is not one of these kids. He is excited about the potential for adoption. He wants a family to love him and one to love back.
For more information on adopting Chris, call the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services at (318) 676-7100, and ask for Melinda.
