LITTLE ROCK (AP) -- Arkansas State Police will be cracking down on people who don't wear their seat belts.

State police announced today that the "Click It or Ticket" campaign begins next Monday and runs until June 1. State law says drivers who are stopped for a traffic violation can also receive a seat belt citation.

State police Director Winford Phillips said the campaign is an effort to cut down on traffic fatalities. State police say that 82 percent of people killed in car wrecks in Arkansas in 2006 weren't wearing seat belts.
