A man has been arrested in connection with the slaying of a woman found shot early Wednesday outside a church in Longview, Texas.

Andrew McCoy, 18, was arrested early today by a Police Department SWAT team that raided a house on Electra Street in Longview.

McCoy was booked on a warrant charging him with the murder of Cynthia Weaver, 42, of Longview.

Police said Weaver was found lying on a bench outside Newgate United Methodist Church Mission on Mobberly Avenue. She had been shot repeatedly.

Police said McCoy became a suspect after a crime-scene unit found physical evidence and detectives interviewed several people. Police said the shooting happened after an argument, but they did not disclose specifics.
