A suspect wanted in connection with two attempted murders in Shreveport is now in police custody. It happened just before 4:30pm in the 9000 block of Moray Drive in the New Castle Subdivision.
According to Shreveport Police, Jimmie Durden Jr. barricaded himself inside a home Monday afternoon after police learned of his whereabouts.
Corporal Marcus Hines tells KTBS 3 News that the Special Response Team including Federal Marshals were used to assist in the effort.
One of the incidents that Durden is connected to involved the shooting of a 15-year-old male in the Sunset Acres area.
He is in custody on two counts of attempted second degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. The bond on his warrants has been set at $200,000.
A female was also inside the home.
Authorities have not yet established her connection to Durden.
The situation Monday ended peacefully, Hines says no tear gas or violence was used.
Durden will be turned over to investigators.
