Imagine their surprise when a couple at the Louisiana Boardwalk found a Boa Constrictor underneath a vehicle in the parking garage Tuesday night.
"It scared a few people who were there," said City spokesman Mark Natale.
Natale says officers were quick to capture the snake, which measured more than five feet long, and take it to Critter Co.
"It's absolutely a gorgeous specimen. Whoever lost it is, I'm sure, quite upset," said Owner Randy Moore.
Moore says the exotic pet's owner probably won't report it missing.
"Bossier City doesn't technically allow you to keep them. You have to have a permit. If they're aware of that and they know they're keeping it and not supposed to, they're afraid to come forward and say they've lost it," said Moore.
Moore says the snake more than likely escaped from a vehicle inside the garage. He says the reptile couldn't have traveled very far because of the heat.
This is the second time in this summer Bossier police have handled exotic pets. Two weeks ago, officers responded to a call about a large lizard in a woman's driveway.
"It turned out to be a Bearded Dragon like you find in a pet store," said Natale.
Both animals are being kept at Critter Co.
