Authorities investigating pedestrian fatality in Marshall

MARSHALL, Tx. -

An East Texas man is dead after a vehicle/pedestrian accident in Marshall.
It happened just before 7:30p.m. Sunday near US Highway 59 (East End
Blvd) and Johnson Street.

Marshall investigators say tthe scene indicated that the pedestrian, identified as Elmer Flores, attempted to cross the highway when he and was struck by a 2011 Silver BMW. The driver was traveling north bound in the inside lane of the highway when the accident occurred.

Flores, 28, of Marshall was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

The Marshall Police Department says the driver of the vehicle was not injured and no charges were filed at the time of the incident.


The investigation continues.
