Shreveport Police investigators are seeking the whereabouts of an alleged armed robber following the hold up of a Shreveport eatery early this morning.
At approximately 12:15 a.m. on January 22, 2013, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Waffle House restaurant located in the 6000 block of Financial Plaza Drive. Upon arrival, patrolmen learned that a male suspect, who was armed with what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun, allegedly accosted an employee who was standing outside of the business. The suspect, after robbing the employee of an undisclosed amount of cash, forced the same employee back inside the restaurant, during which time he confronted two patrons, subsequently robbing them of cash as well. While still inside the business, the armed bandit demanded a second employee open the cash register during which time he allegedly obtained money from within. The robber received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene of the crime on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect was described as black male, standing between five feet seven and five feet nine inches tall with a medium build. The suspect listed as was wearing a large black coat, black bandana, and dark jeans. Investigators are working at this time to recover surveillance video footage from the business.
