Marshall Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead.

It happened just before 1:30a.m. Friday in the 500 block of Georgetown Road.

Authorities responded to the scene and found the male victim, later identified as David James Cherry, 28.

Cherry was pronounced dead at the scene.
