Bossier City police said two teen-age boys have been have linked to a half-dozen auto thefts in the past month.

The boys, ages 16 and 15, were arrested Wednesday after detectives got tips about their involvement in the thefts, which occurred around the area of Barksdale Boulevard and Airline Drive, police said.

Police said the teens targeted vehicles whose owners had left the keys in the ignition. Some of the vehicles were left with the engine running, police said.

In each case, the teens went joy-riding and then abandoned the vehicles.

The teens, whose names were not released because they are juveniles, were booked into the Bossier Juvenile Detention Center on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
