BOSSIER PARISH, La. -

The BPCC Jazz Ensemble will present its Fall concert at 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 15 in the Performing Arts Theatre on the College campus, 6220 E. Texas St, Bossier City, LA.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The BPCC Jazz Ensemble is comprised of both music and non-music majors. Many students in the ensemble are on full-tuition music scholarships. The Fall concert will include a variety of jazz related styles including swing, blues, ballads, and jazz standards – Sammy Nestico’s “Queen Bee”; “All the Things You Are” arranged by Michael Sweeney; “Birdland” by Josef Zawinul; Nat Adderley’s “Jive Samba”; “The Coffee Queen” by John Mastroianni; Horace Silver’s “Filthy McNasty”; and“Honk” a romping rock tune by Jeff Jarvis.

“The BPCC Jazz Ensemble has been very active in the community in recent semesters,” says Dr. Michael Hart, the ensemble’s director. “We’ve performed for the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux and most recently were the featured entertainment at the Builders Supply Company’s annual employee appreciation dinner.”
