When Danelle Cox, who is a natural blonde,  came home with a box red hair dye her mom Ann didn't think much of it.

But the next day when Danelle went to school at Airline High she was sent home because her hair was to red. That was 12 days ago and Danelle has not been back to school.

According to the student handbook: "Use of hair coloring such as blue, green, red, etc and extreme hair styles  are not allowed."

School officials have not suspended Danelle. They are allowing her to pick up her school work so she is not penalized.  Officials have also offered to pay for a professional stylist  to fix her  hair color.

Danelle's mother says her daughters hair has already been chemically treated twice and she is worried another treatment will cause her hair to fall out.
