On Friday, Benton's Town Clerk was reported driving a police unit around town.

Our camera caught video of the unit parked at the town hall where she dropped it off. It was unclear then whether she violated any ordinances for driving the vehicle.

Today, Benton Police Chief Charles Pilinkinton spoke out to clear up the matter. "She didn't break the law, she didn't break any ordinances, that vehicle was driven up here by her per my instructions to get the vehicle's radar re-calibrated and certified," said Plinkinton.

Chief Pilkinton says since there's was no violation, there won't be any action against the Town Clerk.
