NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Physical damage in Louisiana from hurricanes
Gustav and Ike will likely range from $8 billion to $20 billion.
That's according to an estimate released Thursday by the state
economic development agency. The estimate includes both insured and
uninsured damage.
The report said that businesses sustained another $2.5 billion
to $5 billion in temporary losses of economic activity from Gustav.
A figure has yet to have been tallied from Ike.
Ike is being blamed for flooding to at least 13,000 homes -- and
as many as 26,500.
