There was a late-morning scare Thursday at Calumet Lubricants in Shreveport. Several in the area heard a loud noise and felt the ground shake after boiler at Calumet Shreveport Lubricants and Waxes, LLC failed. After completing maintenance work on a boiler, the staff there were attempting to restart the boiler and, as a result, the boiler blew. There were no injuries or hazardous materials released and the incident did not impact the plant's daily processes. An investigation into the cause of this incident is currently underway.
