Parts of a body found in a creek in Minden last week are those of a man, a medical examiner has concluded.

Minden police Detective Dan Weaver said the medical examiner has been able to determine the bones were those of a man who was about 6 feet tall. Decomposition had occurred to the point that investigators don't know anything about his race or weight.

Police said three youngsters who had gone fishing found a leg and foot in Mile Creek last Wednesday. The torso were found draped across an elevated pipeline. The skull has not been located.

Searchers with cadaver dogs have been scouring the snake-infested area looking for more remains. Weaver said they have found both arms, both legs and a piece of flesh.

Police said they have no missing-person cases that could help them narrow their search for the identity of the man.
