NEWS RELEASE

The Bossier City Police Department is putting out the call to members of the public who have what it takes to be Bossier City reserve police officers. Reserve police officers are dedicated citizens who are trained as certified law enforcement officers and serve alongside regular Bossier City police officers. Bossier City reserve police officers serve on a volunteer basis but possess the same authority as regular officers.

Along with riding on patrol, reserve police officers are tasked with performing a variety of duties including providing security during parades, high school sporting activities and at other special events. In the past, reserve police officers have assisted in activities including vice and narcotics operations, Summer Neighborhood Foot Patrols, as well as various investigations and public relations events. They also stand ready to provide support during emergency situations that require additional law enforcement personnel.
