Officers will be walking beats beginning Friday.

The warm-weather program, which is in its seventh year, has officers walking beats to look for trouble and to talk with residents about concerns they have. Complaints will be sent up the chain of command so they can be addressed, Police Chief Mike Halphen said.

Police plan to have walking beats in all of the city's neighborhoods while the program is in effect.
