Bossier Head-On Collision Causes Temporary Road Closure

A head-on collision on Barksdale Boulevard causes the temporary closure of both southbound lanes on Barksdale Boulevard.

The accident happened just after noon on Friday when the driver of a Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck was traveling northbound and drifted into oncoming traffic.

The truck collided head-on with a Nissan Altima that was traveling in one of the southbound lanes.

Both drivers were transported to LSU Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Both southbound lanes on Barksdale Boulevard have been temporarily shutdown and traffic is being diverted to Westgate Drive while crash investigators work to clear the scene.

Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this wreck.
